On a more serious note: our goal is — and always will be — to provide SMEs and startups with an affordable business travel management tool. As such, we opted for a simple SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) pricing model, which doesn’t markup flights and hotel prices (something travel agents tend to do).

Also, we only charge for active usage of our platform. In other words, you only pay if your employees are actually using our product. We believe that’s only fair.

No problem at all. You can file any expenses you’ve incurred during your trip via our platform. In fact, your expenses don’t even have to be travel-related — feel free to throw in monthly phone bills, software subscriptions, and team outings.

Wait, you mean I don’t ever need to leave Travelstop to make any business travel arrangements? Like, ever again?

Does Travelstop make my job redundant? Should I be calling up my recruiter?

Not at all! Sure, this will make your life a whole lot easier, but our platform will also help you to get more done with your already-limited time.

To do this, we’re working on tools that will allow you to book travel for any employee in your organization. You will have access to all their profiles, which means you will never have to fill any form ever again (we remember all the details and pre-fill them for you). We will also notify you if some of the details are dated — for instance, if your employees’ passport is nearing expiry.

But I kinda like using email and Whatsapp to communicate with my offline travel agents.

Our key differentiator is in the technology. We use technology to offer a solution that is not only easy to use, but also very smart.

For instance, with machine learning and AI, we can understand what’s happening within a company — say a group of employees flying to a city at the same time annually — and make it easy for them to pick the best hotel and flight bookings instantly.

How much funding have you received so far?

We’re thankful to have raised US$1.2 million (S$1.65 million) from leading investors in Singapore and USA. Since then, we’ve launched in Singapore, and are looking to expand across the rest of Southeast Asia as well.

What do your plans to dominate Asia’s business travel market look like?

We will continue to drive product development, build a world-class development team in Singapore, and to ramp up growth through sales and marketing. In 2018, our energies will be focused on key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The rest of Asia is our oyster from 2019 onwards.
